Man, I haven't been to a game in a long time. You are right that is definitely a cool moment!
I must admit, I have been there for the #1 and it is pretty wild. Especially for a night game on a Thursday!

Watching an entire stadium full of people jumping in unison to "Enter Sandman" during a night game is crazy. I'm a sucker for pre-game intros anyway, but the one at Tech pumps me up and gives me chills watching it.
Enter Sandman is Riveras theme, not Tech. It's a shame its associated with them.

Are there any college football teams that enter to ACDC's Thunderstruck?
Well if you want to be that way then Billy Wagner from them Mets has been using it longer than Rivera has, so it is his theme. Besides that Rivera didn't even know they were gonna start playing it and doesn't even like that type of music.
Prior to the 2006 season, a minor controversy occurred in New York City when Yankees fans objected to new Mets closer Billy Wagner using "Enter Sandman" as his entrance music, as they believed he had encroached on Rivera's territory in New York; many were unaware Wagner had used the song longer than Rivera had.
From a New York Times article about "Enter Sandman": "Enter Sandman" became the music that announced that Rivera was on the scene and that the game was as good as over, although Rivera has said he had no role in choosing the song.
"I don't mind it all," Rivera said last night in Oakland, Calif., when asked about Wagner's joint ownership of the song. "If the guy feels comfortable using that song, hey, let him be, let him be."
Asked if he liked the song, Rivera said: "You want me to tell the truth? I don't want to get in trouble.
"I don't listen to that kind of music," he added, more bluntly. "I don't love the song."

Clemson got robbed for #1, I think--that's a cool entrance. VT--I've been there 3 times (2 at night) for one of VT's entrances, and it's not even close to as crazy as what he described in the article. It's impressive, but it's nowhere near the prestige & sheer energy of some others. I'd put UT's run thru the T (never seen in person) or F$U's Chief Osceola w/spear (seen that one in person) way above VT's entrance.
Call me partial, but VT's isn't even top 10, and Miami's run thru the smoke, especially when it was in The Orange Bowl, and esp. at night, made more opponents **** their pants before games than I can count, so I have to say he's got his rankings WAY off here.
I can't even really get that mad about Miami's spot in this top 10 for how dumb I think ranking VT's #1 is. Doak Campbell got louder when I was there than VT ever has for a team entrance, and I'd assume Neyland gets a lot louder than Doak.

I've been to numerous games at Tech and Tennessee, and guess I didn't realize they were that unique in their entrances to be considered Top 10 in all of the country.
I am ready to run thru a frickin brick wall right now after watching youtube videos for the past 30 minutes. Running thru the T is of course my favorite because I am a UT homer. The Vol Walk is also pretty special.

Doesnt really matter if he picked it or even likes it, I would venture to say the majority of the guys who play for Virginia Tech arent very big Metallica fans or even know who they are to be honest. And its associated with Rivera because its game over, Wagner I remember in all those World Series and playoff games when he came in and that started playing was just, wait it didint happen. Things like that are given by outside people, I am aware they can pick what they want but it is just more fitting. It fits the atmosphere, when I think of hearing it, Tech and all their national titles come to mind, Im sure Frank Beamer had a hard time choosing between Sandman and Creeping Death one day.
